Eating Local

One of the hardest questions I’ve been asked is, “What is your favorite food?” In my experience as a foodie it’s really not that easy to pick just one. But if you were to ask me instead what it is that I crave the most often, I would say that it’s the local foods here on Guam.

Every single year, I anticipate the arrival of the luscious sweetness of my favorite island fruit, the mango. I must not be alone, because the Annual Mango Festival just keeps getting bigger! More on that later.

Chamorro Village is a must-do on Guam. The outdoor mall is open every day but the main event happens every Wednesday night from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. when tourists and locals gather for the outdoor market and a multitude of cultural events.
