We Will Not Go Silent
A Special Public Showing by Breaking Wave Theatre Company
Friday, July 25 • 7:00 PM Guam Museum Theatre
Tickets Available at Guamtime.net
Join Breaking Wave Theatre Company for a special public performance of We Will Not Go Silent—an award-winning original production that confronts the climate crisis through Guåhan’s story. Told through powerful theatre, movement, music, puppetry, and poetry, this multidisciplinary work explores how colonization, militarization, and capitalism have shaped our environment—and how ancestral knowledge can guide our future.
Appropriate for middle school audiences and up.
This one-hour version of the show includes a post-show talkback with the artists—a chance for audience members to ask questions, share reflections, and help shape the next phase of development.
Featuring the last Guam performance (for a while) by ensemble member Jayna Shoda Meyer, who will be off-island for the next year.
Presented in celebration of Breaking Wave Theatre Company’s recent National Theatre Project Creation & Touring Award from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA)—a national grant supporting bold, artist-led works that spark dialogue and deepen civic engagement.
“We Will Not Go Silent” is made possible with funding by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Theater Project, with lead funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and additional support from the Doris Duke Foundation. This performance is also supported by Creative West, Tumon Sands Plaza, Docomo Pacific, AltrxEgo Entertainment, and Coast360 Federal Credit Union.
