Pirates of the Pacific: If Pirates Crashed on Guam, It Would Look Like This

Pirates of the Pacific: If Pirates Crashed on Guam, It Would Look Like This

Ahoy and Hafa Adai!

We just caught Pirates of the Pacific at Pacific Islands Club and it’s giving us Pirates of the Caribbean meets Moana with a splash of Cirque du Soleil. If you’re into pirates, island culture, fire shows, acrobatics, and food (who isn’t), this Guam dinner show is for you and yes, it’s great for the kids too.

Pirate x Pacific

Even before you get to the show, you’re already in it. We made our way towards the entrance, which winds through waterfalls, caves and pirate-y surprises that set the scene.

Welcome to the jungle, pirate edition.

This is Guam’s first-ever-pirate-meets-Pacific-island dinner show, and somehow, it just makes sense. Pirates are usually a Caribbean thing, but in case you haven’t noticed, Guam is literally in the middle of the ocean, with a rich seafaring and storytelling culture. Of course pirates belong here. It’s a mashup we didn’t know we needed.

There’s a full backstory too: a pirate crew shipwrecks on Guam and stumbles into a world of island magic and mischief, and there's a love story. You really do have to see it live to get the full effect.

Feast first, then chaos

Before the action started, we chowed down. The staff served each one of us our own BBQ surf and turf plate that satisfied our local island BBQ craving. We also enjoyed unlimited access to a salad, appetizer, and dessert buffet.

Drinks anyone? There are themed cocktails like the Shipwreck and the Pirate Punch, which tried and it lived up to its name (it’s got rum and it’s dangerously drinkable). There’s also one called the Drunken Pirate – we’ll let you try that out yourself.

The Pirate Punch. Highly recommended. Just one, maybe two, definitely not three.

The island turns into a pirate playground

Once the show kicks off, it’s a full-blown spectacle. The amphitheater is surrounded by waterfalls, rocks, and jungle scenery, so you’re completely immersed.

When island energy meets pirate lore.

PIC is also home to the Super American Circus, and they've brought that energy to crank the wow factor up. There’s fire, water, acrobatics, and even a pirate fight above our heads... we were craning our necks trying to take it all in.

The stage is on fire! Literally.

The energy doesn’t stay on stage. It spills into the audience and you’re in the crossfire, in a fun way. One guy in the audience got pulled up to dance with Chief Metgot and his island crew. We watched him swing his hips while mimicking Metgot’s warrior cry in full costume...he looked like he was having the time of his life on stage!

The guy from the audience? Main character now. 10/10 hips. 12/10 commitment.

The cast keeps the energy high, but shoutout to the staff too. They’re super friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone was having a good time. After the show, you can snap pics with the cast and get a souvenir photo memorabilia, which is great for your vacation Instagram feed or that one cousin who’s obsessed with pirates.

The high seas, but make it island style.

Ready to set sail?

If you’ve got visitors in town, kids to entertain, or just want a reason to go out and try something new, Pirates of the Pacific brings something totally different to Guam.
