Pepper Lunch Guam: Showcase Your Creativity with Sizzling D-I-Y Dining

By Katie Aizon for The Guam Guide

If you want the chance to be the chef or artist of your own meal while still enjoying the dining experience, then Pepper Lunch is where you want to be. Stop by today and sizzle it your way at Guam's beloved “D-I-Y teppanyaki sizzle grill”, where the plates always come out sizzling.

(Psst! We visited their Micronesia Mall location but spoiler alert: they won’t just be located at one location for much longer…wink wink.)

Guam’s favorite savory comfort spot

Pepper Lunch has been serving the island since 2019, with people recognizing the iconic Pepper Lunch logo (which if you didn’t know is not a chef’s hat but a paint palette) and visiting the restaurant to enjoy different shades of peppery goodness, no matter the occasion.

Originally a Japanese fast-food chain, it became the first restaurant of its kind to open on island, encouraging customers to color their own plate and play into their creativity

Signature sizzling plates

The thing about Pepper Lunch is that you’ll often hear your meal arriving before seeing it.

It kind of sounds something like “Sizzle. Sizzle. Tsss!” which, honestly, will have your mouth watering before your food even reaches your table.

Now, once your meal is in front of you this is where the fun truly begins.

If you order their fan-favorite Classic Beef Pepper Rice what you want to do is take your fork and spoon to the center of your rice facing them upwards, gently spread out your rice, and fold your protein in until everything is mixed.

Or, if you decide to order any of their premium steaks or combos, like their Angus Steak & Salmon Combo, listen to your heart on how you’d like to ‘paint’ your steak whether ultra rare or well done.

And a pro-tip from Pepper Lunch’s very own Manager Erani, (who is super-duper certified in all the sizzles), don’t forget to ‘glaze’ your meal with the sauces: honey brown for some sweetness and garlic steak sauce for an even more savory kick.

Really, at the end of the day you’re the artist and you get to decide how your plate will look like and what kind of ambiance you hope to achieve.
