Don and Jisela Martinez are on a mission to help you collect them all at their new shop, My Wife Told Me To Sell It.
It All Started With One Great Pull...
Their journey began in 2021 when Don’s friend helped him to dive back into his childhood hobby of collecting Pokémon cards. After pulling a great card, Don was hooked. But he quickly realized that collecting could be an expensive hobby and noticed a real need for Pokémon cards on Guam.
This sparked his mission to sell great cards at fair prices. It's a double win: he gets to support his personal passion while fueling the exciting hobby that appeals to kids, teens, and nostalgic adults alike.
A Dream Comes True
Back in 2022, Don landed on the waitlist for Compadres Mall, and while he got an offer in 2024, he wasn’t quite ready to launch a storefront.
That all changed in February 2025 after a trip to Japan, which inspired him to finally bring his dream to life. Compadres Mall had recently renovated the Grand Bazaar, and after viewing the space and praying about it, Don and Jisela said yes.
My Wife Told Me To Sell It officially launched in March 2025 and they are beyond grateful for the island's support.
More Than Just Pokémon Cards
Although their shop was inspired by Pokémon cards, they offer something for every kind of collector. You'll find:

- Stanley cups
You can trade cards, sell cards, buy singles, or buy packs to build your dream collection. Whatever your collecting style, they've got you covered.
And get this: they're the first shop on Guam to feature an e-commerce website. That means you can check prices, reserve items, and pick them up later — so easy!
A Fun Family Business
If you've got kids, you'll love how welcoming this place is. Don and Jisela are parents and understand the importance of convenience, and they strive to make their shop as family friendly as possible. They have even given a free cards to children to help them start their collections.
Don's passion even inspired Jisela and their children to start their own collections.
And if you follow them on social, you already know their content is humorous and relatable; they jokingly say that they put the “real” in their Instagram “reels" and it really shows!
