Manang Pika: Birria Bosses

Manang Pika: Birria Bosses

Some people took up gardening during the pandemic. Others binged Netflix. Siblings Jessica and Justin Aninzo? They built a birria taco empire. What started as a make-shift drive-thru is now a full-fledged restaurant. Say hello to Manang Pika, serving up Guam’s best birria tacos and more, at the ITC in Tamuning.

From Denanche to Birria Domination

In 2020, stuck at home like the rest of us, the Aninzo siblings began selling homemade denanche on Instagram. But one day, they stumbled upon a birria taco recipe they found on TikTok and that changed everything

The word spread, and the orders came flying in. They turned their driveway into an unofficial taco drive-thru, and they were slinging nearly 500 orders every Saturday.

In 2021, the Manang Pika food truck was born, and with the support of family, friends and their fans, the long lines continued. Fast forward to 2024 – Manang Pika is officially a restaurant, and we couldn’t be happier.

Two Cultures, Two Cuisines, One Incredible Experience

Guam is a melting pot of Asian and Western flavors and Manang Pika is a prime example of that fusion done right. They bring together the bold flavors of Mexican birria and the savory yumminess of Filipino street food, creating a fusion that just works.

Here are our must-try menu picks:

Birria Tacos – The reason this place exists! Crispy tortilla, slow-braised beef, gooey cheese...then dunk it into that rich consomé. Guaranteed to have you coming back for more.

Poke Nachos – Highly addictive and perfectly crunchy. Crispy wonton chips piled high with ahi poke and creamy sauces.

BaoBoy – Soft, fluffy bao buns stuffed with pork sisig, peppers, onions and creamy chipotle sauce. (FYI: Sisig is a Filipino dish made with pork loin, pork belly, onions and calamansi)

Sweet Treat:

BaoWow – We're drooling over these two deep-fried bao buns tossed in cinnamon sugars and stuffed with vanilla ice cream and nutella.

Drink this:

Ube Horchata – Oh-so-purple, creamy and dreamy Filipino-Mexican fusion drink. Perfect to wash down all that savory goodness.
