Guam Heads South for the 17th Annual Hågat Mango Festival

Guam Heads South for the 17th Annual Hågat Mango Festival

Mango season is officially here, Guam — and the island’s sweetest tradition is back. The 17th Annual Hågat Mango Festival returns to the southern seaside village of Hågat, bringing a full weekend of mango-filled fun, local culture, and community vibes to Sagan Bisita

Happening May 22–24, 2026, this long-running festival has been a late-May staple since 2006. Set next to the Agat Mayor’s Office with ocean views just steps away, the event features food vendors, mango-inspired treats, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities that make it one of Guam’s favorite ways to kick off summer.

Festival hours:

  • Friday, May 22: 6 PM – 10 PM
  • Saturday, May 23: 10 AM – 10 PM
  • Sunday, May 24: 10 AM – 10 PM

Whether you’re going for the mango desserts, the village atmosphere, or just an excuse to head south for the weekend, the Hågat Mango Festival is one local event that never gets old.

Why the Hågat Mango Festival Is a Must-Do

This isn’t just about fruit—it’s about flavor, family, and fiesta! The mango festival brings together residents and visitors alike to enjoy:

  • Live music & cultural performances
  • Mango displays and taste-testing
  • Mango-themed contests (biggest, smallest, most beautiful, most bizarre)
  • Rides and games for kids
  • Fireworks by the beach
  • Handmade crafts, food, and mango merch

You’ll find everything mango imaginable— mango cookies, mango smoothies, pickled mango, mango donuts, even mango dinanche! And if you're lucky, you might catch a vendor handing out free slices of fresh mango straight from the tree.

Plan Ahead Like a Pro

The mango festival is one of the bigger event draws crowds, so expect heavy foot traffic and limited parking. We suggest:

  • Arriving early or carpooling with friends
  • Wearing breathable clothes and comfy “zoris” (flip flops)
  • Packing essentials: water, sunblock, shades, and an umbrella
  • Bringing cash! Most vendors don’t take cards (though a mobile ATM may be available)

Let’s Talk Mango Food

This is the main event for your taste buds. From warm mango donuts to ice-cold smoothies and savory mango-infused dishes, every booth offers a new way to enjoy Guam’s red-gold treasure. Need a gift? Grab a bag of mango cookies or mango dinanche for friends and family—or just stock up for yourself.

Shop Local & Win Big

Browse booths full of handmade goodies from local artisans: jewelry, plants, clothing, books—even mango seedlings! Be sure to grab official festival merch—shirts, mugs, fans, and keychains—to remember the day. And don't forget the raffle drawing for a chance to win big!

More Than a Festival—It’s a Celebration of Culture

For over 17 years, the Hågat Mango Festival has highlighted southern hospitality, CHamoru tradition, and what it means to come together as a community. From cultural performances and live music to family-friendly fun and breathtaking sunset fireworks, this festival has become a cherished island tradition. So come with an appetite, stay for the entertainment, and leave with sticky fingers, full bellies, and great memories.
