Creative Indeed: Create Art, Connect and Celebrate

By Katie McDonald for The Guam Guide

Looking for a space where you can tap into your creativity, take an art workshop, or host a paint party with your friends? Creative Indeed, newly opened in Acanta Mall, is your go-to spot for all things artistic—whether you're a total beginner, a seasoned painter, or just someone looking for a fun, meaningful way to spend time.

A Creative Comback

Michelle Pier launched Creative Indeed on August 1st in the Acanta Mall in Tumon, and she is excited to bring the creativity of artistic expression to you with workshops and private events!

Michelle’s first studio that was above Mosa’s Joint from 2016-2019. Life circumstances and finances led to her stepping away from that business, but she continued to commission pieces from home and host private events. Her work expanded in 2023 after being awarded a Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) grant to host her Creative Canvas Camp for middle school students.

Michelle was awarded another major grant from GEDA in 2025 that led her to open Creative Indeed and host her camp in the new space. The generous funding allows her to offer a $1,200-valued course experience for just $200 and to offer scholarships to make the experience even more affordable and accessible for Guam’s next generation of artists.

A Space for Everyone

It was thrilling and gratifying for her to design this new space with the proper funding to make it warm, welcoming, and accessible for new and seasoned artists.

“I’ve always wanted a space where it’s not just my art studio but a gathering space,” Michelle said as she explained that her vision is to use the space for her own art while welcoming in artists of all experience levels for open studio time, workshops, and private parties.

Whether you aced your high school art classes or never picked up a paint brush in your life, Michelle wants you to feel welcomed and free to explore your creativity.

What's Inside

Like many of us, Michelle knows all too well that finding the time, space, and money for artistic expression can be difficult.

“I didn’t have money when I was getting into art; I really had to make every penny count,” she remembers as she highlights all the amenities her space offers.

If you’re working on a personal project or hosting a meeting, you’ll be happy to access Wi-Fi and a coffee maker. If you’re looking to get serious about your art, you’ll be especially excited to see a high-quality archival printer, backdrops, and a diverse selection of books

Through all of the workshops and amenities she offers, Michelle is making professional art a more attainable profession in Guam. Whether you want to work or play, this creative resource center has all the tools and guidance you’ll need to succeed.

Camp for Young Creators

Michelle is proud of her Creative Canvas Camp because it uniquely teaches middle school students how to make money from their art. While they spend time developing their skills with brushes and paints, they also learn about pricing and marketing their art, approaching art, and communicating with and respecting others.

Students can build their portfolio and even sell their work at the end of the camp, empowering them to see art as a career, not just a hobby. This is a life-changing opportunity for any young artist in your life!

For Adult Artists Too

If you’re an adult artist and want to learn some of those business lessons for yourself, there's a program in the works just for you. It'll cover everything from pricing and marketing to building a creative business that actually works.

With two decades of experience, Michelle has created a helpful blueprint to support creative individuals as they become creative entrepreneurs.

Because at the end of the day, isn’t it the dream to make money doing something that you love? Creative Indeed is here to help make those dreams a reality, one brushstroke at a time.
