Guam Art Boutique
It is so refreshing to see unique, handmade items that you can’t find anywhere else. Eight Guam-based artisans have come together, showcasing their exquisite work at their interactive art gallery and boutique. Various techniques are used for the jewelry pieces, including glass enamel, Cloisonné, handwoven coconut and pandanus collaboration pieces with a local weaver, macrame, wire wrapping, metal smithing and polymer clay. Many of the artisans use locally collected seashells and sea glass and the polymer and enamel pieces oftentimes include unique renditions of Guam landmarks and cultural icons. The 2D artist specializes in portraits and caricatures. The children’s/baby accessory designer creates items that span from Guam-themed baby bibs to teething rings, headbands, and Chamorro culture-inspired baby tees. They will soon be adding cards, journals and other Guam-inspired gift items and anticipate expanding their space to the unit next door.
Guam Art Boutique is located at Chamorro Village Unit 145 in Hagatna and open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday thru Saturday, on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Start saving your money. Gucci, in partnership with Lotte Duty Free, has now opened their renovated store at the Guam International Airport in the departure concourse. The store offers the fashion house’s accessories collections for men and women, including handbags, small leather goods, travels pieces, silks, timepieces, jewelry, and sunglasses. Gucci Prefall statement accessories have a strong, contemporary allure, which you don’t want to miss. Gucci is open 24 hours so there is plenty of time to decide what sleek look you want.
Inarajan Garden House
Inarajan Garden House has actually been around for the last 25 years, but was a private resort. Well, guess what? It’s now open to the public! With new management and the renovation completed, they are more than ready to have you stay in one of their studios or suites. Their special focus is to “provide a tranquil getaway from the tourist area for those who love a quiet beach, nature and warm Chamorro hospitality — the real Guam.” Located off of Route 4, just pass the village of Inarajan, you will see that getting away from the hustle and bustle of Tumon is quite relaxing and revitalizing. Lounge at the pool, walk down to the beach, or gaze at the sunset from your balcony. Inarajan Garden House offers weddings, family reunions, retreats, and other family parties. The restaurant is open upon request where the executive chef will create delicious meals from organic, natural, and local foods. Weekend brunch will also be offered in the near future. I think I see a “staycation” happening in my near future.
