Hamamoto’s Tropical Fruit World

Hamamoto Fruit World Sign Guam

Want to spend a day doing something different and quite unique to Guam? That’s what my family and I did the other day, when we went to visit Hamamoto’s Tropical Fruit World in Yona.

We arrived in the morning around 9 a.m., just in time to sign up for the 9:30 a.m. trailer tour. This is a fun ride on an open carriage pulled by trailers that slowly takes its passengers through some of the 50 acres that belong to Mr. Hamamoto, a native Japanese who founded the farm in 1996. The ride was very informative, with the tour guide showcasing numerous tropical fruit trees native to Guam, and some imported directly from Florida.

Hamamoto Fruit WorldAfter the tour, we proceed to a beautifully set table with fresh organic fruits ready to be squeezed in cups with slightly sweetened water. My kids enjoyed squeezing fresh lemons, and it was deliciously refreshing! There was also an optional fruit buffet with all-you-can-eat tropical fruits that are harvested in the morning according to the season. Don’t miss out on this delicious experience!

Before leaving we stopped by the gift shop that displays wonderful scented handmade coconut soaps, organic honey, and a variety of locally made souvenirs.

At the end of the day my kids enjoyed the ride, were excited to see some of the fruits hanging from trees that we find at the local grocery store, and were eager to get home to try squeezing some calamansi in water.

Well worth it, so check it out!
