Guam Art Exhibit Opens with Premier of Local Film

Tumon, GU – The creators of the Guam Art Exhibit (GAX) and the Guam International Film Festival (GIFF), two of the island’s premiere events for artists and film enthusiasts, are thrilled to announce their collaboration towards the launch of this summer’s installment of GAX VII.

From July 3rd through July 27th, GAX will come alive once more with the diverse visions of island creatives. The GAX gallery will be located on the second floor of The Plaza in Tumon (above DNA Evolution).

In addition to coinciding with the annual Guam BBQ Fest on Saturday, July 5th – GAX VII will also mark the world premiere and special screenings of the highly anticipated second feature film from critically acclaimed Guam filmmakers, Don and Kel Muna, also known as the Muna Brothers along with Executive Producer JD Iriarte. The film, entitled “Talent Town”, is a feature-length documentary that focuses on the current state of the island’s motivational landscape and the plight of pursuing big dreams from a small island. The film is produced by GIFF Independents and Muna Bros. Productions in association with Foresight Films. The documentary showcases some of Guam’s residing top talents.

Limited screening for “Talent Town” is set for July 3rd at 6:00 pm, located on the 2nd floor of The Plaza next to Underwater World.

Admission is $10 at the door.

Opening Night for GAX VII is set for July 3rd from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm, located on the 2nd floor of The Plaza above DNA Evolution.

Admission is free.
